Summary:

Zealand is covering a huge area with many attractions. You could fx. enjoy the dome in Roskilde, a themepark outside Næstved, the square in Køge or visit the nice beaches during summertime. There are many really nice natural views - and all cities do have a local cafe and non-pricy restaurants.

Leisure in Zealand

Updated 7.11.2018

Zealand has quite a few stunning locations in and around the provincial cities. You will find beautiful views of nature, beaches, harbors, theme parks, museums, and old castles. Also remember to participate in the Roskilde Festival, which is the biggest festival in Scandinavia.

Cinema and Cafe

There are many possibilities to explore in Roskilde and the surrounding cities. Some like to watch the newest movies in the cinema. All cities in the region have their own cinema. You can get a good overview of which cinemas showing what, and a description of the movies on kino.dk. If you are into Cafés and meeting friends, colleagues you could use official information from the organization Visit Roskilde providing information on top cafés, restaurants and sights in Roskilde.

Cultural houses and sports

Some like to explore museums and libraries, while others prefer cultural houses. In Roskilde you can look for a cultural house called Insp! organizing presentations, food and music, while Næstved has a cultural center organizing big concerts, debates, theater plays (both sites are in Danish). On the sports activities sports centers provide facilities for swimming, badminton, tennis, squash, handball, boxing, football and karate etc.
